Angela Dobbins, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). She obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Community Counseling from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Dr. Dobbins obtained her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Florida with a minor is Research Methodology.
As a part of her doctoral training, she completed clinical and school-based practicum rotations, specializing in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults. In addition, Dr. Dobbins completed a full-time, one-year internship where she specialized in psychoeducational and psychological assessment, parent training, behavioral consultation, and therapy for students with various emotional and behavioral disorders. Following graduation, Dr. Dobbins successfully completed a postdoctoral residency at the University of Virginia, with a major focus on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders, learning disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, and other disruptive behavior disorders. Dr. Dobbins has extensive experience completing psychological and psycho-educational assessments, as well as significant experience consulting with school campuses to determine appropriate supports for children and adolescents.
Dr. Dobbins provides comprehensive assessments for children, adolescents, and adults at Premier Psychological Services, as well as Independent Educational Evaluations for school-aged children.
Dr. Bryant Clayton is a clinical psychologist based in Houston, TX, specializing in psychotherapy and psychological assessment, with a focus on ADHD, learning, personality and autism spectrum disorder evaluations. Dr. Clayton provides comprehensive care for individuals dealing with issues such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, stress, personality disorders, anger, trauma, identity development, spirituality, and men’s mental health concerns.
He earned his Doctor of Psychology degree from the University of Indianapolis in 2022 and completed both his internship and post-doctoral fellowship at The Menninger Clinic from 2021 to 2023. At Premier Psychological Services Dr. Clayton is working with adolescents and adults, providing ADOS-2 comprehensive assessments to screen for Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as personality and psycho-educational evaluations to screen for attention and learning related concerns. Dr. Clayton’s research explores the intersection of various challenges and disorders and spirituality in mental health outcomes, guiding his holistic approach to therapy and assessment.
Dr. Westreich is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. She obtained her doctorate at St. John’s University in Flushing, NY. She trained with Dr. Dawn Flanagan and Dr. Sam Ortiz, experts in the field of learning disabilities and educational assessment. She has spent the past 10 years working both in the private sector and within the Alief ISD Public Schools and YES Prep Charter Schools.
As a practitioner, Dr. Westreich specializes in conducting psychological and psycho-educational assessments for children. These assessments help identify any learning obstacles that may be hindering their academic progress. She provides individualized recommendations to address referral concerns. These recommendations may involve implementing effective school accommodations, developing home strategies for parents, or scheduling follow up interventions with other providers (therapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, or academic/executive functioning tutors).
Dr. Westreich takes a strength-based approach to her work, striving to identify and leverage student’s strengths to address any weaknesses impacting their academic and/or home performance. With a wealth of experience working in the public school system, she is adept at creating customized recommendations that are tailored to both public and private school settings. In addition, Dr. Westreich has extensive experience supporting families as they navigate the often complex process of securing appropriate school services for their children.
When Dr. Westreich is not working; she enjoys spending time on the baseball field with her husband, 3 boys, and 1 princess.
Dr. Stephen Tate, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 35 years of experience in the mental health field. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Wheaton College Graduate School and holds a master’s degree in divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In his clinical practice, Dr. Tate not only provides psycho-educational and intellectual testing, but practices the art of combining cognitive behavioral therapy with psychodynamic theory to assist adults, children, adolescents, and families in working through a wide variety of mental health issues, including substance abuse, depression, trauma, marital problems, and anxiety disorders. In addition, he specializes in providing fitness-for-duty evaluations (FFDE) for employees and police candidates. Dr. Tate firmly believes that how a person thinks affects his/her emotions and behavior. As a result, he enjoys helping people learn how to develop proactive solutions and life skills training to assist with gaining control of their daily life situations.
With a unique blend of training in both theology and psychology, Dr. Tate is able to guide clients in learning how to integrate their faith with their life challenges offering counseling that can strengthen their values and empower them to address theiremotional, behavioral, and mental health issues. Beyond his professional work, Dr. Tate is a dedicated father of twins and triplets, has been married for over 30 years, and actively serves as a deacon in his church.
Dr. Chavez works with Teens and Adults with a wide range of needs and goals through individual therapy and assessment. Dr. Chavez is a native Texan and originally from San Antonio (or as he likes to refer to as San Anto or San Antone), but has lived in Indiana from 2017 to 2021, where he attended graduate school and graduated with his Psy.D degree from the University of Indianapolis.
Additionally, Dr. Chavez lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL, for a year while he was completing his APA-accredited internship. Prior to completion of his doctoral degree, Dr. Chavez graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio (GO Roadrunners!), where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Dr. Chavez’s approach to therapy practices an eclectic approach where he pulls from many different therapy styles in order to best fit the needs of his clients. He is foremost a humanist where he mostly utilizes techniques from Person-Centered therapy and places a significant emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as this is key. Dr. Chavez believes no true therapy can occur without a strong therapeutic alliance in place. That being said, he wants you to keep in mind that this is YOUR therapy, and you have the right, as the client, to dictate how your treatment looks and the way it moves forward, and if you see fit, in collaboration with him as your therapist. Additionally, Dr. Chavez will pull from many different therapy approaches such as: biological approaches; cognitive behavioral approaches; and psychodynamic approaches. What approaches will be utilized, how therapy will look, and the course of treatment will be discussed with you at the onset of treatment, and will be adjusted as necessary moving forward.
Dr. Anita Payan is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Organizational Management at Emory University, Master of Education in Counseling at the University of Houston, and Doctorate of Philosophy in School Psychology at the University of Houston.
She has trained in a variety of settings in Houston including Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital, the University of Texas Health and Science Center of Houston, and various public schools. She completed her American Psychological Association (APA) accredited pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in the Houston Independent School District Psychological Services and Crisis Intervention Department. She has prior work experience as a psychologist in an academic medical setting and as a contracted specialist for conducting psychoeducational evaluations in schools.
Dr. Payan specializes in working with children, adolescents, emerging adults, and families in the assessment and treatment of ADHD, anxiety, depression, and adjustment related issues such as grief and loss. A backbone of her practice is cognitive behavioral in nature, where she works with youth to increase their emotional awareness and identify better ways of thinking and behaving to become more effective in everyday life. She also provides consultation services to assist parents in understanding a diagnosis and applying strategies in support of their child/teen’s path to wellness.
Dr. Alyzae Karim, Ph.D. is a pediatric neuropsychologist and specializes in neuropsychological evaluations of children and adolescents with medical and neurodevelopmental conditions such as epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, stroke, sickle cell disease, cancer, brain tumors, Down Syndrome, ADHD, autism, intellectual disability, and learning disabilities. Dr. Karim assesses the interplay of one’s cognitive (attention, executive function, learning, and memory), social, emotional, and academic functioning, and utilizes a client’s strengths and weaknesses to develop individualized and targeted recommendations. Dr. Karim also manages and treats patients with concussions. During her fellowship, she conducted baseline concussion evaluations for the NFL Baltimore Ravens. She also conducts assessments for eligibility for accommodations on college/graduate entrance exams.
In addition, Dr. Karim has experience with providing cognitive-behavioral therapy for children and adolescents with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. Her practicums at Sundance Behavioral Health Hospital involved providing psychosocial assessments and individual and group therapy to patients with various psychiatric disorders. During her pre-doctoral internship at the Higgins Education Center in Illinois, she developed expertise in providing therapeutic support to students for suicidality, homicidal threats, severe behavioral issues, schizophrenia, autism, various cognitive disabilities, genetic disorders, and traumatic brain injuries. Specifically, Dr. Karim provided individual and crisis counseling, completed case study evaluations, led IEP meetings, provided staff consultation, and conducted suicide and formal threat assessments.
Dr. Karim received her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, she was a search intern at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where she assisted in research projects related to cognitive functioning and mood disorders in medically ill populations. Dr. Karim then completed a doctoral degree in school psychology at Texas Woman’s University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C. In her free time, Dr. Karim enjoys traveling, painting, exploring different types of food, and spending time with her family.
